Rose McGowan

"Rose" McGowan (born on the 5th of September, 1973) is an American
actress and activist. Following her debut film in her brief appearance in the
comedy Encino Man (1992), McGowan received more attention for her performance
in the dark comedy The Doom Generation (1995) with an Independent Spirit Award
nomination for Best Debut Performance. Her breakthrough role was in the film
horror Scream in the year 1996. The film was followed by film Jawbreaker (1999)
as well as Devil in the Flesh (2000). McGowan was best known for her role in
Charmed, a supernatural drama series on the WB from 2001 to 2006. McGowan also
appeared in Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's double-feature film
Grindhouse (2007) in which she received nominations for the Saturn Award as
Best Actress as well as the Scream Award as Best Scream Queen. She was a part
of the action-thriller series Chosen (2014) and released her debut studio
album, Planet 9, in 2018. It was followed by a revamp in 2020. McGowan was
honored by Time as the Silence Breakers, the magazine’s Person of the Year in
the year 2017. She made a statement against harassment and sexual assault, and
specifically the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse cases. In 2018, she released
Brave, a memoir, and also appeared in Citizen Rose, a four-part documentary
series.
