Cattrall, born 21 August 1956 is a Canadian actress from British Columbia. She
is best known for her part in the role of Samantha Jones on HBO's Sex and the
City (1998-2004) in which she earned five Emmy Award nominations and four
Golden Globe Award nominations, receiving the 2002 Golden Globe for Best
Supporting Actress. In the films Sex and the City (2008) and Sex and the City 2
(2010), she reprised the character. Her film debut came in Rosebud (1975) in
which she was later cast in numerous roles on TV. In the 1980s, Cattrall rose
to prominence with films such as Ticket to Heaven (1981), Police Academy (1984)
and Hold-Up (1985). She was also in City Limits (1985), Big Trouble in Little
China(86), Mannequin (1987), Masquerade (1888), Midnight Crossing (1988) and
The Return of the Musketeers (1989). Tribute (1980), Porky's(1981), Turk 182
(85) and Baby Geniuses(1999) were a few of her appearances. Other credits
include The Bonfire of the Vanities (1990), Star Trek VI The Undiscovered
Country (91), Split Second (1992), Above Suspicion (95), and 15 Minutes
(192001).
