Milena Govich
Milena Govich is an actor director,
musician, and actor. She has helmed numerous episodes of TV, including Chicago
Med (2015) (211) and The Equalizer (221). Milena was the Co-EP/Producing
Director of Dick Wolf’s CBS show FBI (2018) and is currently working on two
pilots. Milena was among eight filmmakers chosen for AFI's prestigious
Directing Workshop for Women, in addition to the only Sony Pictures Television
Diverse Directors Program. Unspeakable the short film she created, as well as a
television show proof of concept, was shown at SXSW. It also took home Best
Episodic at the Seattle International Film Festival, and Best Pilot at the SoHo
International Film Festival. The film, Temporary, she produced (2017) was
screened throughout the United States. She was awarded the Best Narrative Short
at Anthem Film Festival. Best Dark Comedy Award at Atlanta ShortsFest. The
Director's Choice Award from Sedona International Film Festival. As an actor,
Milena has appeared in close to 100 episodes of television. She first gained
national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the
prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis
Leary/FX). Conviction (2006) is the Dick Wolf series, was her second big role.
It culminated in her being awarded the Emmy for best female detective on Law
& Order (1990). K-Ville (2007) (Fox); The Defenders (2010)(CBS); Make
It or Break It (2009) [ABC Family]; and Lori Stevens (MTV Drama Finding Carter
(2014). Milena has also been featured in numerous films, like Sordid Things
(2008); A Novel Romance (2011) with Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) and
#Lucky Number (2015). She also starred opposite Method Man. Milena is an
Norman, Oklahoma native. After graduating as valedictorian from her high school,
she went on to complete an undergraduate degree in both singing and premed,
along with minors in violin and dance at the University of Central Oklahoma. In
the following years, Milena utilised her classical ballet lessons to perform on
Broadway in the show starring Rob Marshall and Sam Mendes 'Cabaret' at Studio
54.
