Markie Post
Markie Post grew up in Walnut Creek,
California and began her career with films and TV shows such as Card Sharks
(1978) and "The New Card Sharks" (1986) and later on produce such
projects as Double Dare (1976) and has made appearances on such programs on television
like 1st to Die (2003), E! True Hollywood Story (1996) and Electra Woman
(2000). Perhaps her most famous TV performance was "Christine
Sullivan" on Night Court (1984). From 1984 to 1992, she appeared in 156
shows. Daughter of Marylee (Armstrong) Post, poet, and noted nuclear physical
scientist Richard Freeman Post (November 14 1918 - April 7 15th, 2015). With
her second husband Michael A. Ross, she had two children: Katie Ross (born June
26 1986) and Daisy Ross (30 March 1990). Born in Palo Alto, California, and
grew up in Walnut Creek, California. She was a cheerleader at Las Lomas High
School, Walnut Creek, California. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree
from Lewis & Clark College, Portland Oregon. She was a trick roper on
The Wildest West Show of the Stars (1986). She was cremated and her cremated
remains returned to her husband Michael A. Ross. She was a lifelong Democrat.
Markie Post, who was just three months away from her 71st birth date on
November 4 2021, passed away on the 7th of August. She was 27 days from Charles
Robinson, Night Court (1984) which was her co-star , who died on July 11, 2020.
While the two shows were not connected, Night Court (1984) was the final show
to end with Christine Sullivan's character relocating to Washington DC. Hearts
Afire (1992) began with Post as Georgie Lahti. Post was a new character in
Hearts Afire (1992), and she later relocated to a small community after working
in Washington DC.
