Renee Kathleen Zellweger
Renee Kathleen Zellweger, was born in
Katy, Texas on April 25, 1969. Her mother Kjellfrid (Andreassen), is a former
nurse and midwife born in Norway. Kven (Finnish), and also has Swedish and
Norwegian descent. Emil Erich Zellweger, her father, is a Swiss engineer. They
got married in 1963. Renee has a brother named Drew Zellweger, a marketing
executive born on February 15 in 1967. Renee was a member of the drama club in
high school when she began to become attracted to acting. She enrolled in an
acting class at the University of Texas (Austin) and began to think about
acting as a profession. Following graduation, she wanted to pursue acting but
Hollywood isn't an easy town to break into, so Renee chose to remain in Texas,
and auditioned for roles in Houston and managed to land roles in films as
Reality Bites (1994) and Empire Records (1995). Matthew McConaughey was another
Hollywood newcomer that she met filming Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2: The Next
Generation (1994). Renee observed him on a project which attracted her. She
auditioned , and was awarded the role in Love and A.45 (1994). The role earned
her enough critical praise and a decision to move to Los Angeles. A further
role in The Whole Wide World (1996) followed which led to her biggest break.
Cameron Crowe was busy with casting Jerry Maguire (1996) which starred Tom
Cruise. Crowe was looking at actresses like Bridget Fonda and Marisa Tomei when
He saw Zellweger's performance in The Whole Wide World (1996). He had a chance
to audition Zellweger and was sure he'd found his Dorothy Boyd. Renee continued
her popularity with a few independent films and after receiving more praise
from critics She was confident enough to reenter the realm of large-budget
Hollywood films. Meryl Streep starred with her in One True Thing (1998). She
also appeared alongside Jim Carrey in Me, Myself & Irene (2000) and
began dating Carrey in the following year. Bridget Jones's Diary (2001) was her
first film in the main role.
