Thora Birch

Thora Birch was born March 11th on 1982. She is an American actress, producer, and director. Her first film appearance was in Purple People Eater (1988) in which she was awarded a Young Artist Award for "Best Young Actress under Nine Years Old". Birch became a star as a child star and was featured in films such as All I Want for Christmas (1991), Patriot Games (92), Hocus Pocus (93), Monkey Trouble (1994), Now and Then (1995) and Alaska (1996). In 1999 she was nominated to receive a BAFTA nomination. Following that, she appeared in Ghost World (2001) as Enid. She was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. In 2003, Birch received an Emmy Award nomination for her role in the title character in Homeless to Harvard The Liz Murray Story. Birch was also featured in Dungeons & Dragons (2000) and The Hole (2001), Silver City (2004) and Dark Corners (2006). She was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2003. Birch also played the role of Whisperer Maryand Gamma on the Walking Dead's Season 10. Birch was born in Los Angeles, the eldest child of Jack Birch and Carol Connors. Birch who's family included the surname Biersch is German-Jewish and Scandinavian. She also has French-Canadianand French-Canadian and Italian ancestral roots. [6] Her name, Thora comes from the Norse god of lightning and thunder "Thor" which could have been her name, were she a boy. She has a younger brother, Kian Bolt Birch.Birch's parents were former film actors, who both appeared in the film Deep Throat. Because of their own experiences in the entertainment business it was difficult for them initially to encourage Thora. But, her photograph was viewed by agents when a babysitter spotted her imitation commercials. Her first break came at the age of four when her babysitter took her to auditions for a Quaker Oats commercial.
