Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland was born to actresses Melissa D. Canaday, and Edward James Hyland in New York City. Her career began in the field at 4 when she began doing voice overs as well as commercial work. The first film she made was Private Parts (1997). The Object of My Affection was her second film. Sarah was a part of in Another World (1964), as Rain Wolfe, a child who was found in the park and was fostered by Josie. Sarah was able to continue working alongside Amy Carlson ("Josie") numerous times: Falcone (2000) and Law & Order (1990) and Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was selected as one of the younger "Audrey Hepburns" in Jennifer Love Hewitt's The Audrey Hepburn Story (2000) the same year she was also cast in the role of "Molly" in ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999) which starred Kathy Bates, Audra McDonald, Alan Cumming, Victor Garber and Kristin Chenoweth, Joe Gould's Secret (2000) and Falcone (2000). Sarah trained in voice in jazz, tap and hip-hop along with film and television work. Sarah, a New Yorker, was also an invited artist in her tap and Theatre dance classes at "Reel to Real" Lincoln Center. Her homeschooling was provided by her mother from 2nd grade and then attended Public School. When she was in 6th grade she was accepted into PPAS (Professional Performing Arts School) and stayed there until she graduated in 2008. Sarah was 18 when she moved to Los Angeles. She landed the pilot named "My American Family" within two weeks. Once picked up the name was changed to Modern Family (2009). Sarah is currently "Haley Dunphy", an the oldest Dunphy children. Modern Family (2009) won numerous awards, most notably the Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
