Rosamund Pike

Born in 1979 in London, England, actress Rosamund Mary Elizabeth Pike is the sole child of a classically trained violinist mother, Caroline (Friend), and a opera singer father, Julian Pike. They worked hard for their families and she traveled extensively throughout Europe during her childhood. Pike went to Badminton School in Bristol, England and started acting at the National Youth Theatre. Pike was only 23 when she was cast in "Romeo and Juliet" at the National Youth Theatre. She was then spotted by an agent and was signed. Although her first film was a huge-budget action movie, her film involvement was mostly in smaller independent films , such as Promised Land (2004) and The Libertine (2004). The Libertine won her the Best Supporting Actress Award at The British Independent Film Awards for the film. Pride & Prejudice (2005) was her first feature film. Following a brief appearance in Hollywood, Doom (2005) and Fracture (2006), she returned to film with exceptional performances in three of the smaller films. She was also in Johnny English Reborn (2011) and the sci-fi drama Wrath of the Titans (2012). She returned to action-oriented films with her female lead in the film Jack Reacher (2012).
