Rita Ora is a British singer-songwriter. Rita Sahatciu Ora was born in 1990 in Pristina (Kosovo) to Vera (Bajraktari), and Besnik Sahatciu. Besim Sahatciu is the granddaughter of her mother. When she was just one, her family made the decision to relocate to England. She was raised in West London and attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School in Earls Court, following which she graduated from Sylvia Young Theatre School and afterward, St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College. She began singing at an early age.In 2004, she was featured in the British film Spivs. She was chosen to audition for Eurovision The Country That requires You, a British contestant for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. However she decided to withdraw from the contest after only few episodes because she didn't feel ready. The first release of Ora's music was in 2007, when she appeared on the song of Craig David "Awkward" and then in 2008 with "Where is Your Love" with Tinchy Stryder. Also, she appears in music videos. Ora began singing in bars across London. Roc Nation was informed by an A&R about Ora in 2009, just a few days after Ora traveled to New York and met Jay-Z. Ora appeared in Jay-Z's 2009 music video for "Young Forever" as well as "Over" from Drake. Jay-Z was intrigued by Ora's talent, and was able to sign the singer to Roc Nation. In which Ora was featured in a commercial promoting Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. She began singing at the same pub her father, Besnik, was a pub owner.
