Mila Kunis Bio

Mila Kunis was born Milena Kunis in the Ukrainian city of Chernivtsi on the 14th of August 1983. Kunis, seven years old, emigrated to the United States along with her parents Elvira and Mark Kunis. She eventually settled in Los Angeles. The Kunis family came to the United States with only 250 dollars. It was a challenging start. Kunis parents had both left their jobs to make it easier for their kids. Mark was an engineer who worked in mechanical engineering, quickly was able to find work as a taxi driver. Elvira, an entomologist from Ukraine was able to run a pharmacy. Kunis acknowledged that he did not understand American culture at first. "I did not understand the American people. I couldn't comprehend their language. My first sentence in my essay to apply for college was "Imagine yourself being blind and deaf at age 7." And that's kind of the experience I had when I moved to the States. I was able to get over it quickly. Milena Markovna Kunis was the daughter of Mark Kunis in Chernivtsi (Ukraine), and Elvira. Her older brother is also hers. Her mother works as a pharmacist and a physics teacher. Her father is a mechanical engineering professional. He doubles up as a driver of taxis. She is Jewish. Her family moved from Israel to Los Angeles when she turned seven. Rosewood Elementary school was her first option. When she was nine, she began lessons in acting. After auditioning for couple of commercials, she made her television debut on 'Days of our Lives. She also appeared as a child actress on the  show 'Honey We Shrunk Ourself, 'Santa with Muscles,' and the Angelina Jolie movie, Gia. She was first cast in the 1998 sitcom That ’70s show’ as Jackie Burkhart. Her performance was praised by the critics. In 1999 she was given the role of Meg Griffin on the animated sitcom Family Guy.
