Kari Matchett Biography

Kari Matchett is an actress from Canada. She is most well-known for her roles as Kari in movies such as "Apartment Hunting", "Men with Brooms", and "The Tree of Life." Born in Spalding, Saskatchewan and raised there, she eventually moved to Alberta where she finished high school. During her teenage years she began to develop an interest in acting. She attended Montreal's National Theatre School to continue her training in acting. In Moscow, she also attended the Moscow Theatre School. In 1996, she made her television debut as a supporting role in the Canadian show 'The Rez. In the same year, she also appeared in series' such as "Forever Knight" and "Ready or Not.' Her film debut came in the late 1990s, with the film Papertrail. She then was in films such as "Men with Brooms, "Cypher," and many more. She also had supporting roles in series such as "A Nero Wolfe Mystery" and "Blue Murder." She was also in film through the 2000s, but her appearances on film were not as prominent as her TV roles. In 1998, she was given the role of the lead of Colleen Blessed on the Canadian drama series Power Play. The series received critical and commercial acclaim and ran for two seasons and 26 episodes. The role she played in the show earned her a 'Gemini Award. Jude Lyon Matchett became her first child in June 2013. But she was hesitant to reveal the father of her son. According to certain sources, her ex-boyfriend is of her son. Kari Matchett met T.W. Peacocke in the late 1990s and they started dating. They were finally married in 1998. However, the marriage was not long-lasting and the couple split in 2006.
