Padma Parvati Lakshmi is a Chennai-based Indian woman who was born on September 1st, 1970. Lakshmi lost her parents at the age of 2 years old. Her mother moved to USA to escape Indian stigma. Lakshmi lived for two years with her maternal grandparents, in Chennai prior to her move to the United States. The couple divorced, and she has a younger brother and sister.
